Åstol & Dyrön

and August 13 & 28.
Outside the southernmost tip of the island Tjörn one can find the tiny island Åstol and the larger island Dyrön. Enormously beautiful islands, each in it's own way. Both islands have been inhabited as fishing villages for hundreds of years. In summertime the population increases a lot, as they are much loved islands among summer guests and popular to visit with boats of all kinds. In summertime there are some more shops and art galleries that invite you to a visit.
Åstol is a barren very small rocky island, covered with densely built houses, a small charming port, lovely places among the cliffs to swim from and fantastic views over the sea.
Dyrön on the other hand offers both lush greenery and beautiful cliffs. There is nice walking paths with fantastic views, two small ports and lovely swimming areas.
The ferryride from the mainland only takes about 15 min and so does the ride between the two islands - enough time to be able to enjoy the sea on a bobbing boat!
